Stef’s Bio:

Stef is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto and has over 10 years of experience working with teens and adults in a variety of contexts, including crisis intervention services, the education system, and community mental health settings. Deeply committed to continuous learning, Stef has extensive training in a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Stef has dedicated her career to helping people step into new levels of bold, courageous, and wholehearted living. Her overarching hope is that your therapeutic journey will lead you into a more accepting, compassionate, and secure relationship with yourself and with other people. As a therapist who is attachment-based, emotion-focused, and fascinated by the transformative power of the therapeutic process, Stef will seek to make your relationship with her a safe haven and a refuge for you - a place where you can explore your inner world with curiosity and openness, befriend your emotions and decipher the messages they’re trying to send you, and reprocess the pain of the past so you can be free to live as your most authentic self in the world.

As an experienced client herself, Stef recognizes and honours that therapy can be overwhelming and intimidating, especially at the outset. Knowing this, she strives to create comfort and a felt sense of safety by infusing humour into her sessions, and by taking the time to get to know each client’s strengths, values, and unique attributes. These vitally important parts of who we are are often so tragically eclipsed by setbacks and stressors, and Stef wants to help you rediscover and harness them in the service of developing resilience and growing into the person you want to be.

You’re not struggling because you’re incapable, weak, or doomed: being human is just insanely tough sometimes. Stef would love to walk with you to help you find meaning and vitality amidst the messiness of it all.
