Sherley’s Bio:

Sherley is a Registered Social Worker (Qualifying). She is completing her Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she also holds an Hon. Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and an Advanced Social Research Specialization. Sherley’s education and passion for social justice allows her to integrate both psychological and social factors into her therapeutic approach.

Sherley has experience providing individual psychotherapy to adults. Her clients have found her open, friendly demeanor and in-depth exploratory approach empowering in working towards their goals. She also has 7+ years of experience supporting youth and adults in marginalized communities and vulnerable populations, including the disability/developmental sector, BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ groups. Sherley uses an integrative, psychodynamic approach to cultivate a treatment plan that is uniquely adapted to meet individual client needs.

Sherley’s professional, academic and personal journey has taught her the strength in promoting agency and resiliency in others. She practices holistically and collaboratively, in which she believes that all factors of a person’s identity (such as psyche, childhood, social supports, gender, culture, etc.) are interwoven pieces in one’s therapeutic journey. Sherley values authentically building a strong therapeutic relationship to create a safe non-judgemental space. She is committed to using compassion, patience, and empathy to help clients reach their goals.

In her free time, Sherley enjoys reading, watching sitcoms, listening to true crime podcasts, working out and hanging out with her dog.
