Lindsay is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the OCSWSSW. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Adult Development from the University of Guelph, an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University, and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in mental health.
Lindsay has completed training in family therapy and child-related disorders through her time with Sick Kids Hospital, training in Collaborative Proactive Solutions for managing challenging behaviour with psychologist Dr. Ross Greene, and has extensive experience with the treatment and management of co-occurring physical and mental health concerns and medically unexplained symptoms through the Medical Psychiatry Alliance.
With over 4 years of experience supporting individuals and families in both community and clinical settings, Lindsay draws from various therapy models including: Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Schema-Focused Therapy.
Lindsay has experience working with individuals and families going through a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, separation & divorce, trauma, stress, grief & loss, behavioural issues, motivation & goal setting, family conflict, child behaviour issues, parenting difficulties, somatic symptoms, medically unexplained symptoms, disordered eating, emotion and mood dysregulation, ADD/ADHD, personal development & growth, and school & work-related stress.
As a participant in the therapy process herself, Lindsay understands the positive impact that finding the right support has on overall wellness and life satisfaction. Lindsay works to create a kind and caring environment without judgment for each individual to explore their own stories and work through difficulties safely. Lindsay incorporates humour and compassion into her practice, as well as hands-on ways of applying strategies to real life situations.
Lindsay is a lifelong resident of the Waterloo Region and is well connected in this community. In her spare time, you'll find Lindsay biking, golfing, kayaking, hiking, or completing one of many DIY projects she has on the go. Lindsay also enjoys yoga and meditation, and creative arts such as photography and calligraphy. She also has a serious love for animals.
