Chad Bouma, MSW, RSW
Chad is a Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and undergraduate degrees in both Social Work and Social Development Studies. A Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW, he has over three years of clinical experience serving individuals, families, and couples.
As Transformation Counselling’s most skilled Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Chad has extensive post-graduate training and experience in CBT. His approach to therapy is to get a bigger picture of what’s going on for his clients and build a trusting and strong relationship with them in order to effect meaningful change in their lives. Chad is passionate about guiding people along their paths toward transformation and finds deep meaning in his work as a humble passenger on people’s journey to wellness.
In addition to his impressive clinical skill, Chad is just a really relatable guy. Often compared to Chandler from Friends, it doesn’t take long for him to crack a joke to help you feel at ease and make you feel comfortable. (Whether or not the joke is funny is at your discretion.) It’s this dedication to being a real human you can talk to that Chad finds paramount in his clinical work with people.
Chad understands that it’s not easy to discuss your “problems” with a complete stranger. After giving therapy a try, his clients have been surprised at their ability to open up and experience a meaningful change by feeling heard, validated, and supported without judgment.
